STAYING AT DOWNHILL
Downhill is a private members’ ski club sleeping up to 46 persons.
Guest Bookings open on April 3rd each year.
ACCOMMODATION
Downhill has 10 bedrooms each with en suite.
7 rooms have queen size beds and one set of bunks.
2 rooms have queen size beds with two sets bunks.
1 room has 2 single beds and two sets of bunks.
Trundles and porta-cots are available if required.
Your room will have been fully serviced by our managers prior to your arrival. Your beds will be made and towels, bathmats and hand towels provided in the bathroom. Each bedroom has a safe for valuables.
ENTRY
The front door of the lodge is kept locked at all times. Entry is via a keypad and the entry code is advised at the time of booking confirmation. It is suggested you store the code in your mobile phone so you don’t forget it.
CHECK IN/OUT
Check in is at 4pm, except on Sundays which is not usually before 6pm. Mid Week you will probably find your room ready on arrival. Check out is 10am.
On arrival, do not expect to find a reception desk like a hotel. If our managers, Carmen & Tony Ryan, are in the lodge when you arrive they will show you around. Failing that there may be a Downhill member who could show you around until Carmen or Tony is free to assist you.
There is a whiteboard in the foyer indicating which room has been allocated to you. When your rooms is ready for occupation a red magnet will be placed on the board next to your name. If your room is not ready please proceed to the Transit Room on the middle level. This room is available for storage of luggage until your room is ready and can also be used on your departure day. The room contains a shower, toilet and changing area plus a refrigerator and a freezer for temporary storage of perishables. You are welcome to come early on your arrival day and use the transit room and other club facilities until your room becomes available.
SELF CATERING
Downhill has a fully equipped kitchen with electric ovens, microwaves, commercial dishwasher, refrigerators, pots and pans, toasters, sandwich maker, pizza maker, Kitchen Aid blender, Bamix coffee plungers and stove top espresso makers. The club provides jams, honey, Vegemite, peanut butter, mustards, tomato & chili sauces, oils, vinegars, salt & pepper, flours, sugars, coffee, hot chocolate and a large selection of Twinings teas.
The club provides milk for tea and coffee only. Please provide your own milk for cereals, hot milk drinks and for cooking.
Each club member and guest is responsible for the cleaning up of anything used in the preparation of meals. The commercial dishwasher takes 90 seconds making short work of clean up.
WI-FI
Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the lodge for members and guests.
SKI HIRE
Ski Hire is available a short stroll across the road at Pension Grimus where you will receive a 10% discount as a Downhill guest. There are racks in our front foyer for ski and snowboard storage and a drying room for boot storage.
