Getting There

Only 248kms north east of Melbourne (about 3 hours), Mt Buller is the most accessible snow resort in Australia and the closest resort to any international airport (Melbourne, Tullamarine).

Driving in your own car or a hire car is a great way to get to Mt Buller. It’s only a short 3-hour drive from Melbourne via the Hume Highway or Maroondah Highway (see maps, below), and the scenery on the way is well worth taking your time to see and enjoy.

As the Mt Buller Village is located above the snow line, most cars are required to stop at a car park located approximately 1.5km below the Village. From here you take a 4WD taxi which will take you to Downhill’s front door.

For more information about driving to Mt Buller, or for other options, please visit Getting Here section of the Mt Buller website.
